Marianne leaves behind her family and friends in Connecticut to make a new start at a small college in New Orleans. Soon after her arrival Marianne senses something is very wrong on the university's campus. However, her thoughts of returning home vanish when she meets her charismatic literature professor Caleb Church. Convinced she wants to stay, Marianne sets out to find the source of her unease. Digging deeper and deeper into the college's dark history and secrets she discovers things that should not exist and soon finds herself in grave danger.
